Salmon Fishing

Salmon Fishing in Fortun river

NB! In 2025, salmon fishing in Fortun River has been decided to be closed due to lack of salmon. Trout fishing is still allowed in the same river during the fishing season (15.07-01.09).

Fortun River is one of the best salmon rivers in the Sognefjord and flows into the Lustrafjord the inner branch in the Sognefjord. It is famous for its big salmons, the biggest are approximately 15-17 kilos. Fishing in the river is all about fresh air, clear water, patience and a silent experience. Consider trying fly fishing in the river as some days the fish might bite better on flies than spinners.

We have a close cooperation with the local land owners and provide the necessary local and national fishing licenses. 1,7 km of river is included in the license and the river is shared with other enthusiastic fishermen.  We recommend to join one of our guides on a guided fishing experience and learn the best spots.

Local lunch, bonfire and fishing soup is served for special events and groups on request.
