Mørkridsdalen / The Mørkrid Valley
The Mørkrids valley is known as the gateway to Breheimen National Park, as it is one of the easier ways to enter the park. The valley gets its name from the steep mountains that overlooks it from both sides.

The national park is considered one of Norway’s most variety rich parks with altitudes spanning between almost sea level and over 2000m high mountain tops. It was protected in 2009 and today stretches over 1 691 square km. Breheimen is considered the wild raindeers home, as it contains a part of Norways third largest raindeer population.
