Molden – One of Sognefjord’s Finest Viewpoints

Molden is one of the area’s most popular mountains, loved by locals and visitors alike. The hike takes approximately 3–4 hours round-trip, offering breathtaking views of Lustrafjord, the majestic peaks of Jotunheimen, and the Jostedal Glacier.

The Hiking Experience

Our hike begins at Krossen, following a moderately challenging trail through beautiful forest and up the mountainside towards Svarthiller.

Along the way, you will encounter stone steps built by skilled Sherpas from Nepal, making sections of the ascent easier to navigate.

At Svarthiller, we take a well-deserved break to admire the views across the fjord towards the village of Ornes (Urnes).

The Summit

Reaching the summit of Molden rewards you with an unforgettable panorama. From the top, Lustrafjord stretches in three directions, with sweeping views towards the highest peaks of Jotunheimen and the surrounding glacier landscape.
