RIB-tour: By Tørvis Hotel, Marifjøra
From Marifjøra starts an adventure on the Sognefjord in an open and safe RIB boat. The RIB stops in Feigum, where the guide will take you on a 30 minute walk up to the 218 meter tall Feigumfossen waterfall. For those extra adventurous, there is a possibility to go all the way to the foot of the waterfall, where a refreshing and powerful experience is waiting!
Back in Marifjøra waits a tasty lunch based on local produce at the traditional Tørvis fjord hotel. The staff also provides a small tour at the hotel. Visit www.torvis.no for more information about the hotel.
10.00 – Meetup in Marifjøra at the parking spot by Tørvis hotel for clothing (floating/warming suit, life jacket, goggles) and orientation.
10.15 – Departure RIB-boat tour (length of drive: 1 h)
The guide makes brief stops to share stories and facts about local history and attractions along the fjord. The turn back is at the town of Skjolden, which lies at the end of the Sognefjord – the world’s longest navigable fjord. The way back to Marifjøra is taken along the opposite shore, where new sights can be discovered.
11.00 – Arrival Feigum.
In Feigum we start a slow walk up to Feigumfossen waterfall – approx. 30 minutes walking each way. You can choose to turn at a viewpoint near the waterfall, or go all the way to the foot of the waterfall and experience the powerful cascades. The walking trail runs along the Feigum river and could be slick after rainy days. Bring good footwear.
13.00 – Departure from Feigum.
13.15 – Lunch at Tørvis in Marifjøra. Homemade sandwiches with local smoked pepper salmon on sourdough bread with homemade coriander butter, mango and arugula. The staff welcomes you and tells about the old fjord village Marifjøra and the fjord hotel with its rich traditions.
